    1) При официальном знакомстве используется фраза Can/May I introduce + (имя, фамилия и т. п.)? — Разрешите представить такого-то (глагол may звучит более официально, чем can). При знакомстве обычно обмениваются фразами How do you do?Как поживаете? (формула How do you do? не требует ответа).
    2) В неофициальной обстановке употребляются менее формальные выражения, например: John, do you know Mary? Mary, this is my friend John — Джон, ты знаком с Мэри? Мэри, это мой друг Джон или I don't think you two know each other, do you? — Не думаю, что вы (двое) знакомы друг с другом. Знакомящиеся обмениваются фразами Pleased/Nice to meet you — Приятно познакомиться! или, в дружеской ситуации, Hello!, Hi! — Привет!.

    а) Возможные варианты ответа на выражение благодарности:

    Not at all! (офиц.), It's nothing!, Don't mention it! — Не за что!

    You're welcome!, That's all right!, That's OK! — Пожалуйста!.

    б) Слово please не используется как ответ на выражение благодарности (в отличие от русского "пожалуйста").

    а) Чтобы вежливо принять предложение, используют выражение Thank you/Thanks (без Yes):
    б) Чтобы вежливо отклонить предложение, используют выражение No, thank you/thanks:
